E-Green Building Systems Introduces new wall sheathing system

E-Green introduced the new magnesium-oxide-based wall systems to the Pacific Northwest in March 2007. These boards have superior physical characteristics: fireproof, waterproof, mold-proof, sound absorbing and thermally insulating. These boards replace existing gypsum and cement board technology and can be placed in any part of the interior or exterior of the building.

For exterior uses the porous breathable surface adheres to stucco and paint coatings far stronger than other exterior cladding options.

These board systems can use quick drying filler materials like Syncho patch or Bodo-like agents that allow wall systems to be put up, dry and painted in a day. The strength and durability of the board systems also allows them to be recycled off the wall systems when interior walls need moving.

The board systems are made of Magnesite, which is metemorphosized sea salt. Magnesite or magnesia is 4% of the earth’s crust, and a sustainable resource. The casting of the boards uses no energy and waste from the process goes back into the boards. Construction waste board fragments are completely non-hazardous and contain plant nutrients (e-greenbuildingsystems.com).
